Gah! Pilgram did IshiHime!!! *dokidoki* I've always love going to her website to oogle over her IshiHime fanarts but I never expected her to actually do any IshiHime doujin works. And even though this is only a copy-bon, I'm already very very happy. Now if only she'll do a SasuSaku doujinshi, then I can die happy. XD
There is only one story in this copy-bon, and it begins during the Soul Society arc, after Ishida and Orihime have successfully stole the Shinigami uniforms. As Orihime stares at the beautiful and blue sky above her, she wonders whether or not there will be someone out there for her, someone who will be able to make her feel comforted and relaxed like her elder brother once made her feel...
The story then jumps back a few weeks, back when they were all still in the human world. One afternoon, Ishida is walking home when he notices Orihime has fallen asleep on the grassy slope near the river. At first, he was going to walk away because a sleeping Orihime doesn't really concern him. But when he sees a group of high school male students walking by the river, he decides to sit beside Orihime and pretend he is with her, in order to avoid any potential trouble and harassment. After the boys are gone, Ishida stares down at Orihime's sleeping face and makes a note of how peaceful she looks... or so he thinks. Unbeknownst to him, Orihime is actually dreaming of her past, more specifically, her last encounter with her brother before his death. And when she realizes (in her dream) that her brother is gone and will never be coming back, she breaks down and cries. In the meantime, Ishida sees Orihime's tears and freaks out, not knowing what to do. He tries to wake her from her nightmare. But when that doesn't work, he reaches down and caresses her hair, hoping his gesture will calm her down. And calm her down he did! Orihime even unconsciously reaches out to grab the warm hand comforting her! *inserts blushy Ishida* (So cute!!!) XD A bit later, Orihime wakes up, looks around and wonders what happened. She remembered holding onto a warm hand. But she sees no one around her! Alas, her secret knight had crept away right before she woke up and contented himself with watching her from afar. (Why, Ishida? Why???) And she ends up thinking it was her brother who comforted her. Back to the present, it is time for Ishida and Orihime to leave and find the rest of their friends. And as Orihime grabs Ishida's hand to drag him along with her, she freezes. Though she doesn't say anything out loud, it is obvious she recognizes the warmth of Ishida hand and figures out that it was Ishida, and not her brother, who helped calm her from her nightmare that one afternoon. <3
