This is the first Yukiru doujinshi I ever got. And really, just the front cover illustration is enough to make me turn into a pile of mush. So preeeetty!!! *_*
The story begins with a narration in Yuki's POV, of him realizing how much Tohru had affected him ever since she moved in with them. But he knows he is not the only person she affected. She is also responsible for all the positive changes (less temper tantrums and more polite) in Kyo lately. And this thought bothers Yuki immensely. He tried so hard to change himself, to open up himself to those he cares for. But something still holds him back and he doesn't know how to get past this barrier. Feeling slightly frustrated, he leaves the kitchen (where he was eating breakfast in) and heads to the garden for his strawberry patch, hoping for some quiet thinking time. Though Tohru seems to have noticed Yuki's suddenly change in mood and goes after him. She even brings him all his gardening tools and offers to help him with his strawberries! He understands this is Tohru's subtle way to cheer him up, in order to break down the wall he built around himself. He realizes what he had been doing all along. It had been his own fear that held him back from opening up. He was afraid of getting hurt by allowing others to get close to him. That's why he unknowingly built a wall around his heart to protect himself. But Tohru can see through this wall, and accepts the young man hiding behind it. Tired of running and closing himself off, he suddenly hugs Tohru close to him. For the first time in his life, he wants to feel the warmth of having the person he cares for in his arms. But because of his Jyuunishi curse, he turns into a rat. While in his animal form, he apologizes to Tohru for doing something so inappropriate (suddenly hugging her) and also apologizes for always closing himself off whenever she tries to reach out for him. But Tohru gives him a pretty smile in return and tells him she didn't mind the hug. Plus, she can see how hard he is trying to change himself. Unfortunately, just as Tohru is about to say more, time is up and Yuki turns back to his original human form... naked. XD Later, after Yuki is properly dressed again, he walks over to Tohru (who had walked to another part of the garden to give him some privacy), he leans in close to her and tells her he wishes to hug her again one day. Tohru, as usual, ends up blushing and stuttering, but still manages to mumble out that she doesn't not want this. (Double negative! That means she wants it! Hohoho!!!) And the story ends with the two walking together back to the house. But in the background, Yuki's narration begins again, of him realizing how much he enjoys Tohru's warmth and company, and how much he wishes to open up himself to her... only her. *melts*

This is a joint doujinshi by Rose Bud and Aquarium, with two sappy Yukiru stories all together. To my understanding, while Aquarium is a Yukiru fan, she has never released any Yukiru doujinshi of her own. So this is her first try at this pairing, not counting all the guest illustrations she previously did for other artists. Rose Bud, on the other hand, has labelled this as her third Yukiru doujinshi. So I'm missing her second one!!! ;__;
The first story is by Rose Bud, beginning with Yuki helping Tohru with her studies for their upcoming exams. During their little chit-chat, she confesses her worries of troubling him by asking him to tutor her. But he immediately denies ever feeling troubled and even tells her that he is happy to have her by his side. Tohru is, of course, really happy to hear this. In fact, she is too happy that she becomes completely shocked, resulting in Yuki thinking he said something wrong! But she quickly clarifies the misunderstanding and tells him that she feels the same way (that she is happy to have him by her side). ^_^ The story then jumps to a bit later, with Tohru falling asleep while laying her head on the living room table after their study session. While watching over the sleeping girl, Yuki finds himself leaning in and softly whispering her name. But instead of calling her "Honda-san", he calls her "Tohru" this time. It seems like our shy Yuki is only able to call Tohru by her first name when no one is around... or so he thinks. Apparently, Shigure was eavesdropping on them and wouldn't stop teasing Yuki about this afterwards! XD
In the second story, which is by Aquarium, a sleepy Yuki wakes up early one morning and finds Tohru in the kitchen attempting to make breakfast for everyone. But at 5:30am in the morning? It seems like Tohru had hurt her hand while substituting as Hatori's assistant the previous day. But instead of asking for help, she decides to wake up extra early to do her part of the chores. Seeing this, Yuki offers to help her with breakfast. He reasons that since she always helps him with his strawberries patch, it is now his turn to help her. But since Yuki is a guy, and a guy in a kitchen is guaranteed to mean trouble, the first thing he does is break a dish. XD Feeling discouraged and completely useless, Yuki tries to retreat, only to called back by Tohru, who wants to know whether or not he received a wound from the broken dish. At the mention of the word "wound", Yuki remembers Tohru's wound, does a 180° turn and heads back to her to check her wound instead. While changing her gauze for her, he apologies for always causing her so much trouble. Though Tohru doesn't seem to feel this way. Suddenly becoming serious, she tells Yuki that it is normal to mess up the first or second try in the kitchen. But nevertheless, she is very glad that he was willing to spend the time to help her. And the story ends with a short narration of Yuki realizing that today is his "special day" because it gave him special memories that belonged to only him and Tohru. ^_^
