I'm actually a Nash/Sierra shipper. But I got this doujinshi before the release of Suikogaiden and Suikoden III. So even though Nash/Sierra is probably a canon pairing, I still hold a soft spot for Klaus/Sierra because of this doujinshi. Though I must also point out there aren't much romance between the two, just small implications.

The first story takes place during the final battle against Neclord in the city of Tinto. As Viktor delivers the fatal blow to Neclord, Sierra reflects back to the tragedy in the Village of the Blue Moon. She remembers watching her long time friends/children die one by one in front of her when the Moon Rune, these vampires' source of life, was taken away by Neclord. And as she dispassionately watches Neclord die, she realizes that because of the man in front of her, she will once again be living that torturous lonely life, for all of her kinds are now dead and she once again becomes the one and only vampire left in the world. Sierra angst... *sniffles*

The second story takes place right after Kiba's death, focusing on how Klaus deals with the news of his father's death. And he doesn't deal with it very well, for he ends up locking himself in his room. When Sierra comes in to lecture him, he breaks down and reveals all the sadness and insecurities he felt upon hearing Kiba's death. He feels that he can no longer go on nor stay strong when the one person he had been looking up to all his life died. Luckily, Sierra is there to knock some senses into him as she tells him that Kiba most likely wouldn't want to see him like this and would want his only son to stand up and live life to the fullest. And she even promises him that she'll never leave him alone!!! Though what she was offering was something more alone the lines of companionship rather than anything more.

The third and final story takes place right after the game, as Viktor and Sierra exchange a short conversation on Sierra's future whereabouts. (And the bickering continues as we see another round of Viktor the bear vs. the Vampire Mistress!!!) At first, Viktor expects Sierra to retreat deep into the forest, just as she once did hundreds of years ago. But he is surprised when the vampire mistress announces that she'll try to live among the humans. And after taking a last look at the castle, she begins her journey to find her own home in the human world. But what she doesn't expect is Klaus coming after her and embracing her from behind, for Sierra's promise (from the second story) is still fresh in his mind and he has decided to accompany her on her journey. And with that, the two leave together to find their place in the world. *melts*

Series: Gensou Suikoden
Title: Sleepless Walking
Circle: Lighthouse-MK
Artist: Miki Kizuki
Pairing: Luc/Sera
Page: 34
Size: B5
Genre: Romance, Drama, Angst
Rating: PG
Published: 05/04/2003

This is one of my all time favourite doujinshi! While I do love the Luc x Sera pairing, they can't quite compete with my most favourite pairings (Heero x Relena, Athrun x Cagalli, or Sasuke x Sakura). But this doujinshi is simply amazing. The characterizations are right on the dot and the art is so beautifully detailed (LOTS of shading and toning) that even non-Luc x Sera fans will enjoy this.

The first story is a basically the prologue of Chapter 6 in the game, focusing more on Luc's thoughts and how he comes to the decision of leaving Leknaat to follow his own path. (It also shows how Luc got his new haircut. It turns out Leknaat is a skilled magician AND a skilled hairdresser as well!!!)

Next, the focus jumps to young Sera, back when she is still living in the Circle Palace. She has been living a lonely and sad life with no companions, never knowing how to smile or the meaning of happiness. And she falls deeper and deeper into despair as she continues her meaningless life. But it all changes when a mysterious young man appears at her window one night and offers her a chance to freedom. Somewhere deep inside her, she knows this young man is the same as her, that he is currently suffering the same meaningless life as her. And perhaps this is the reason why she decides to take the chance to leave with him.

The final story begins in one of the behind-the-scenes in Chapter 6 where Sera suddenly asks Luc if there are anything that could made him happy and smile. At this, he gives a very typical Luc answer. "Yes, there are. When I am ridiculing people." (Somehow, I don't think she was expecting such an answer. XD) To Sera, just being able to stay by Luc's side is enough to make her happy, perhaps even smile a little. And she hopes with all her might that one day, Luc would be able to do the same, not necessarily a smile at her but just a smile in general. The scene then jumps to Luc's last moment at the Ceremonial Ruins of Chapter 6, of him watching Sera as the ruins cave in on them. For a short moment right before his death, Luc realizes he finally found the one thing... or rather one person who can make him smile: Sera. And he dies with a gentle smile on his face directed at Sera, the one person who is forever loyal to him, and the one person who had dedicated her entire life to him. Wah! Too much angst!!!

Series: Gensou Suikoden
Title: Soyo Kaze
Circle: Lighthouse-MK
Artist: Miki Kizuki
Pairing: Sasarai/Viki

Genre: Drama, Angst, Humour, Romance

Possibly Lighthouse-MK's last Suikoden doujinshi, since I haven't seen anymore Suikoden works by her after this. This doujinshi consists of four stories (two main stories, one prologue and one epilogue). There are also two full colour illustrations at the first and last page of this doujinshi. The first one is of Luc in his Suikoden II outfit while the second one is of Sasarai also in his Suikoden II outift. (Yes, Sasarai is temporarily back to wearing that huge ridiculous hat!!!)

The prologue is of Luc, in Suikoden III, watching/feeling the wind as the other members of the Destroyers (Sera, Albert and Yuber) make last minute preparations before they begin their "operation". At the end, Luc makes a comment about how he hates the wind (since he is the unwilling bearer of the True Wind Rune) and commands the three to advance with him towards a place with no wind. Basically, Luc here is wishing for death, which is exactly what he wanted in the game.

The first main story actually begins in the Suikoden III era, of Luc thinking back to a conversation he had with Tir McDohl when Riou and the others were at Banner to recruit him (back in Suikoden II). At that time, Luc couldn't understand why Tir decided to participate in the Dunan Unification War. But Tir explains that he does this to try to lower the pain and suffering that the current Tenkai Star would be experiencing in the future. He also explains that while the True Runes took away their luxury of growing up, they did not take away their abilities to grow and mature mentally, and as a result, become more experienced in life. And Tir is going to take this advantage and use it to help those around him. This is what they, as True Rune bearers, should do. Back to the present, Luc comes to a realization that he is not as strong as Tir and he is tired of always being there to help others. And perhaps... by going through with his plan of destroying the True Runes, he may be saving the world from becoming the colourless, tasteless and soundless world that his own True Rune showed him...

The second main story is a light-hearted story focusing on Sasarai and how he comes to befriend Viki. At the beginning, Sasarai is seen leaving Budehuc for Kaleria. Seeing him ready to leave the castle, Viki offers to teleport him there even though she has no idea who he is. Unfortunately, Viki sneezes during the teleportation and Sasarai ends up in the middle of nowhere. So by the time he goes back to Budehuc, he is all beat up and stuff. (He even had to use up all his rune magic to survive from escaping wherever Viki sent him. *snickers*) After this little accident, Sasarai somehow finds himself attracted to Viki (in a platonic way) and befriends her one afternoon. During that afternoon, Viki confesses to Sasarai that she thinks she had been trying to teleport herself back home but she can't quite remember where "home" is. And thus, her teleportation fails all the time and she ends up in the wrong places all the time. But she holds a firm belief that one day, she'll successfully find her way home. Hearing this, Sasarai decides that he wants to change Viki's homeless destiny, by recruiting her to the Harmonian force. He wishes for Viki to have a real home to return to and wishes to become the someone waiting at home for her. And the plan seems to be going along perfectly fine with Viki agreeing to go to Crystal Valley after the war... that is, until Viki accidentally sneezes during the post-war banquet and accidentally teleports herself away... probably to wherever and whenever Suikoden IV takes place. Aww... poor Sasarai. The expression on his face when he read chibi-Viki's letter explaining the situation is too cute!!!

Last is the short epilogue in Tir McDohl's point of view, taking place when the Ceremonial Site is collapsing. For a moment, Tir feels that the wind had completely stopped moving. And he realizes another one of his best friends had passed on. But strangely, he is not saddened by this. He knows that somewhere out there, Luc's soul is healed and he can finally find the peace he deserves. *sniffles*
