This doujinshi is a very classic example of the "don't judge a book by its cover" saying. When Irene first offered me this doujinshi, I turned down her offer because I wasn't quite willing to pay $30 for a doujinshi by an unknown circle with a so-so-looking cover. But about a week later, I saw some sample scans of this doujinshi in a Yahoo Japan Auctions, jaw dropped at how GORGEOUS the inside art is, did a 180° turn, and went back to beg Irene for the doujinshi again. XD And thank goodness she still had it. Or else I probably would have fought an arm and a leg for the copy up on auction. And I'm the type of person who rarely bids on auctions. But when I do, I go all out. XD

The main story is a Sasuke-birthday story, taking place some time after the Wave Country arc but before the chuunin exam (since Sakura still has long hair). It begins with a very cheerful Sakura seeking Sasuke out, wanting to know when his birthday is. She had just been talking to Ino when her friend pointed out that she hardly knows anything about her teammates. So now, she is trying to find out more about Sasuke and Naruto. And if she is in time, she would like to celebrate their birthdays with them. Hearing this, Sasuke is reminded of the last birthday he celebrated with anyone, which was his 7th birthday before the massacre of his clan. And he realizes he never really bothered with any special days after the incident (since he had no one to celebrate it with). But to indulge Sakura, he asks her what is the day of the month. And when Sakura tells him it's the 26th, he it's already 3 days past his birthday and tells her so. Slightly disappointed, Sakura tries to lighten up the mood by saying that she'll celebrate his birthday with him next year, only to receive an "if we can..." answer from a very distant looking Sasuke. Not understanding why Sasuke is thinking so pessimistically, Sakura frowns sadly. And even Sasuke cannot defeat Sakura-chan's uber cute sad puppy look and, with a slight smile on his face, tells her not to worry about it. But even though he is smiling, Sakura knows what Sasuke said will probably become the truth, whether they'll be parting ways due to missions or if there are any hidden meanings behind his words. And she becomes scared whenever the thought of never seeing him again pops up in her mind. Unable to help herself, Sakura lightly tugs on Sasuke's sleeves and hugs herself to him, quietly confessing her feelings of never wanting to part with him. And in the meantime, Sasuke has no idea what to do except try to stop himself from blushing too much. *melts from sappiness* XD

The other story takes place after Sasuke left Konoha for Sound. It begins with Sakura entering Sasuke's bedroom, clutching the key to his house tightly in her hand. Apparently, after Sasuke knocked Sakura out in chapter 181/episode 109, he slipped his house key in her hand. (Yatta! I knew it! Go Sasuke-kun!!!) And as Sakura looks over his room, the first thing she notices is the framed photo placed face down on Sasuke's cabinet. Curious, she picks it up and finds herself staring at the photo of Team 7 and Kakashi, taken back when their team was first formed. At this point, she realizes that the photo is nothing but the past and that they can never go back to being like before. And she allows herself to cry one last time: for herself, for Sasuke, and for her broken team. The scene then jumps to a bit later, with Sakura and Ino watching the sunset as they await for the Shikamaru squad's return. While waiting, Sakura speaks out what had been plaguing her mind all along. Had she been stronger, would things be different? Would Sasuke react differently to her pleas? Instead of giving Sakura an answer, Ino lectures her for thinking this way. While Ino can't say she completely understands what Sasuke is thinking, one thing she does understand is that Sakura is someone important to Sasuke, or else he wouldn't thank her or give her his house key. Instead of pondering on "what if's", Sakura should accept what had already happened and believe in Shikamaru, Naruto and the others. Realizing her friend is right, Sakura finally gives Ino a small smile while she silently prays for Sasuke's return. Okay, okay, so Honey Canon was wrong in guessing the Shikamaru squad would bring back Sasuke. But we all know that Sakura, along with Naruto, will be able to bring Sasuke back three years from now! So don't give up, Sakura-chan!!!

Oh my gawd, I love this doujinshi, I love this doujinshi, I love this doujinshi!!! It's such an awesome SasuSaku comedy doujinshi with kickass art!!! Though I frown a bit at the length of this doujinshi. 16 pages is definitely NOT enough!!! And because of the short length of this doujinshi, each story is only 1 to 3 pages long. But what the heck? I shouldn't complain. I love it either way. *huggles it* Story-wise, they're all comedy ones with a pinch of romance. So naturally, the characterizations will be a bit off for the comedy effect.

In the first story, we're introduced to Sasuke's inner voice, who seems to be quite vocal inside Sasuke's head since he avoids talking in front of others. XD The story begins with "inner Sasuke" taking notice of Sakura's newly cut short hair and feeling awful because he knows she did it in order to save Naruto and him. At the exact same moment, Sakura embarrassingly asks him if she looks weird with this new haircut. Of course, Sasuke refuses to answer or he'll lose his cool image. His inner voice, though... is quite interesting. "No, you don't look weird! In fact, it really suits you!!! That's what I want to say... That's what I really want to say... But I can't ruin my image!!!" XD Unfortunately, Sakura takes his silence as an agreement with her (that she looks weird), and makes an offhanded comment that Sasuke must really like girls with long hair better. Once again, Sasuke is unable to explain in order to preserve his image. But inside him? "What? What the hell??? That is not true! Who the hell started such a stupid rumour?!! Noooo, Sakura, don't believe in them!!!" *dies* No wonder Sasuke is so silent all the time. I don't think anyone will ever take him seriously if he ever starts talking like that!!! *lol*

In another story, Sasuke is practicing his Fuuma Shuriken technique while Kakashi and Sakura are discussing about his cursed seal off at the side. Sakura expresses her worries that the cursed seal will once again take control over Sasuke's body. But Kakashi assures her that everything is all right now since he put a counter seal on Sasuke. And he tells Sakura this with a smile and a pat on her head. But at the exact moment that Kakashi is patting Sakura's head, Sasuke's Fuuma Shuriken goes zooming right between the two, immediately forcing them apart. We then see Sasuke in his level one cursed seal mode saying, "Oops! Sorry, my hand slipped." Upon seeing Sasuke in his current state, Sakura panics and wonders what she should do. Left with no choice, she throws herself at him, in hoping she can at least delay him from going completely out of control. But as soon as Sakura's arms are circled around Sasuke, the cursed seal retreats instantly. And then Sasuke turns towards Kakashi and SMIRKS at the older man, basically givng him a silent "Ha! Look who I have in my arms" message! Bwahahaha! Sasuke-kun is wicked!!! XD

Then there is this story where Sasuke and Sakura catch Kakashi reading Icha Icha Paradise as usual. Unable to comprehend why and how Kakashi could be reading an adult novel in public so freely, Sasuke speaks out his thoughts. But Kakashi tells him that he is at least 5 years too early to be wondering about such a thing. Of course, Sasuke won't let Kakashi off so easily. But instead of getting angry, Sasuke gives a little snort and turns away. Though before he starts walking away, he throws back a little smirk and tells Kakashi that he doesn't need such a thing unlike certain lonely people he knows. And then he walks away with the classic Uchiha I-am-too-cocky-for-my-own-good smirk and with Sakura in his arms. Ouch! Poor Kakashi-sensei was completely burned!!! *lol*
